We recommend chunky yarn that can be purchased from Hobby Lobby, Michael's or JoAnn's. Each retailer offers a variety of colors and the skeins are different sizes.
 
If you purchase yarn from Hobby Lobby (Yarn Bee brand), you'll need 5-6 skeins.
If you purchase yarn from Michael's (Bernat Big Blanket), you'll need 4-5 skeins.
If you purchase yarn from JoAnn's (Bernat Extra Thick), you'll need 2 skeins.
